favorite comic?

What is your favorite comic?
Growing up I was a huge Donald Duck fan. I have no idea how many comic books and magazines I have read over the years. As I got a bit older I discovered Calvin & Hobbes and they are still my favorite. I work with kids and I quit often see similarities between what they do/say and what Calvin are up too.

I used to look forward to Garfield every Sunday when I was little.
I also always loved (and still do) the Far Side comics.

oh yeah, Far Side is pretty good. That is my best friends favorite. And my husband is a pretty big fan of Garfield. I never really *got* that one though - maybe it is because I'm not a cat fan.

I always loved 'The Far Side' and 'Calvin and Hobbes' best. 'Calvin and Hobbes' gets even better now that I read it and realize how hilarious it actually was, picking up on jokes that I didn't properly understand when I was a kid and read them as they came out in the paper.

These are my favs as well. I also find the old lady on the greeting cards pretty hysterical too. My sense of humor has always kind of been on the dry, sarcastic side so unfortunately people don't always 'get' me (which makes for tough explanations when someone gets offended).

Farside and Garfield for me too. Never got into the Calvin comics.

Hagar the Horrible is another favourite, but I don't know if he appears over the pond.

Oh my gosh, I almost forgot about Hagar the Horrible! I used to love that one. So funny and simple!

I find that most of the comic strips around now aren't all that great and not too many of them are ones that I feel like checking out. 'The Far Side' knock-off type strips are usually okay but they don't compare at all to the original ones being made years ago.

I have to agree that the ones nowadays are not nearly as good as the ones I enjoyed when I was younger.
